Learning Objectives: At the end of this activity; attendees should be better able to effectively:

  • Describe the distinctions between CBD, THC, medical marijuana, and industrial hemp.

  • Identify and describe the apparent health benefits, therapeutic effects, side effects and safety of CBD Oil. 

  • Discuss the various delivery mechanisms for cannabinoids such as CBD Oils and the methods by which to obtain CBD Oil (Federal Law vs. RI State Law).

  • Interpret the research related to the potential therapeutic effects of cannabinoids.

  • Recognize the prevalence of pelvic floor dysfunction among athletes.

  • Describe pelvic floor anatomy and physiology.

  • Identify signs and symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction in order to refer to a specialist.



Target Audience: Athletic Trainers, Student Athletic Trainers
